Make a difference

Image
As a Youth Advocate, I encourage everyone to join the campaign to help the Filipino youth achieve what's best for them. Proper education and the importance of it and children's rights are the things I am keen on promoting and giving to the children in all possible ways that I can - through articles/write-ups, volunteerism, donations, and spreading the good word to help those children be sent to schools, achieve their goals and dreams in life and what's truly right for them. We, even in the simplest way, can help those who are in need. Helping doesn't have to be grand; we should know that the tinniest gestures of help really do matter and could change one's life. Let's lend a hand to those who are in need of assistance. We can MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Be in the know! Support UNICEF Philippines: (To know more, click the link below.) UNICEF Philippines

Burger, fries and everything nice

Image
Weekend couldn't get any better when you get to spend it with a true friend who knows you too well and whom you most likely to share the remaining fries on the table. Rara and I went to watch the movie Insurgent. We enjoyed all 'falling off from the highest building' to the 'love interest' and how the movie pursued to showcase how we can achieve peace. For all the movie fans of Insurgent, I know this description will be too shallow for you guys and I'm sorry. (I'm just to giddy giddy so my serious hat is taking its break, just for the record.) Back to the grind - we came in way too much early for the movie so we have decided to eat (I think, I've decided to eat because Rara is on a diet and I pretty much destroyed it for the day.) I've been to many burger joints but I've never been to 8cuts Burger Blends until today. I am a tiny person who has a big appetite. Pizza, pasta, burgers, fries, sweets and tons and tons of sodas and other unheal

A letter of gratitude

March 1, 2015 Dearest friend, Starting out a sensible letter gives me the creeps. Starting a sensible letter of gratitude makes me crumble. There are just so many things that I must say. Things that words are sometimes not enough to have everything interpreted. And this is one of those things. Like 100% of individuals here on earth, I am not perfect. I can be irritating at times, too. That could be one of the reasons why the sky of the two evil sisters ignited - to bring me down to my knees; well, of which, wasn't successful after all (apparently). I am proud to say. With that being said, I know you know that we both know and we are in the same box of tiles, of puzzles, that is yet to be whole. We and the most of people who experience the same thing have the most vivid versions of how to survive. I must say that to have you as a confirmed confidant of mine, of fairness and equality, is enough kind of tile in the broken puzzle of me that continues to be whole. I neither

Life's good!

When we think of all the stuff that occurred in the day, we tend to think what went wrong not what went right. That's kind of a huge thing to dive into. Positivity, in moments, becomes rare. That is the sad part. We always think the world owe us  the big things without realizing that others don't even have even the tinniest ones. Today, while having a long long walk in the University, I thought of counting the simple things that I feel I'm really blessed to have. 1. A voice Earlier in the day, I went to the University. I was walking for almost half an hour looking for a Notary Public Office and still can't find any. I don't quite memorize the sections and units of that huge university. I grabbed my phone, turn on my mobile data connection, search and I did find. Since I wasn't sure if that was the updated location of the Notary Public Office, I asked a vendor from the shopping center and quite confirm if it was really located at the Bahay ng Alumni. He sa

Sample sketch from my old files circa 2011 "'These days I just can't seem to say what I mean,' she said. 'I just can't. Everytime I try to say something, it misses the point. Either that or I end up saying the opposite of what I mean.  The more I try to get it right the more mixed up it gets.  Sometimes I can't even remember what I was trying to say in the first place. It's like my body's running circles around it. The other me has the right words, but I can never catch her... Do you know what I'm trying to say?' 'Everybody has that kind of feeling sometimes, I said.' 'You can't express yourself the way you want to, and it annoys you.' Obviously, this wasn't what she wanted to hear." - Haruki Murakami, Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman

Baguio 2015

Image
Our family went to Baguio last January 1st and I must say that this was our first for this year (or in such a long time.) Often times these days, families get together when someone's sick or worst, someone faced death. It happened and perhaps this is our way of making up for the lost and wasted time.  My family, I can say, is crazy. We don't agree on much of the things like other families but I guess, sticking to it is the secret. Bound by different personalities, choices in life and beliefs, we kept it loud, clear, nonvocal yet true and fun. We were never showy but that does not mean we can never be. We've had way too many photos but these are my faves. Cousins who used to be babies are soon to be taller than me
